Judges hints and tips
• Preparation is the key – allow plenty of time to develop and submit your entry. The entry deadline is 24 June 2011
• Set the context and background. Don't assume that the judges are fully aware the great work your company has been doing
• Explain the approach that was taken. Provide an overview of what you set out to achieve, what the key objectives were, what steps you took and who was involved
• Celebrate the results. Provide details on what benefits have been realised and how they are being sustained.
• Retail is all about detail. Provide sufficient detail, including financial results, for the judges to be able to compare results across the entries
• Success requires innovation, vision, ability to take risks, courage and creativity – demonstrate this in your entry
• Make the judges life easier, use a clear style with plenty of visuals, charts and tables to make your case clear
• Use plain English. Drop the jargon – not everyone will understand your company or sector's specific terms
• Involve the right people. Don't just leave it to the marketing and PR teams, but include all the stakeholders that were involved in the initiative
Before you submit cross check that you have fulfilled all the elements of the brief and provided all the evidence that the judges need. If you get stuck then contact the events team on 020 7728 5285.
